Introduction to Free SSL Certificates
DirectAdmin can automatically issue and renew free SSL/TLS certificates for your domain or subdomain using Let's Encrypt or ZeroSSL. Once enabled, DirectAdmin will automatically manage future certificate renewals.
Step 1: Log in to DirectAdmin
- Sign in to your DirectAdmin control panel.
Step 2: Access SSL/TLS Certificates
- Navigate to DirectAdmin -> SSL/TLS Certificates.
- Under Automatic certificate provisioning, if ACME is disabled, you will see a message stating that the ACME system must be enabled.
Step 3: Enable ACME
- Click on the ACME settings tab.
- Check the box beside Enable ACME.
- Under ACME provider, select Let's Encrypt or ZeroSSL.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click SAVE CHANGES.
Step 4: Provision the SSL Certificate
- Return to the Manage certificates tab.
- Under Automatic certificate provisioning, your domain will appear under NEW CERTIFICATES.
- Click PROVISION NOW to issue the SSL certificate.
Step 5: Confirm the SSL Certificate
- Once provisioning is complete, the Automatic certificate provisioning section will display: “All DNS names have valid TLS certificates. Certificates will be automatically renewed.”
- The certificate will show as Valid with the renewal mode set to Automatic.
