Introduction to DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is an email authentication technique that helps secure email by verifying that the messages are genuinely from the claimed domain and unchanged in transit. Implementing DKIM significantly enhances trust and deliverability for your emails, protecting both senders and recipients from phishing and spoofing attacks.
Step 1: Log in to DirectAdmin
- Sign in to your DirectAdmin control panel.
Step 2: Access Email Accounts
- Click on the “E-mail Accounts” icon to manage your email settings.
Step 3: Enable DKIM
- Activate DKIM by clicking on the button "ENABLE DKIM". This will automatically generate a DKIM record for your domain.
Step 4: Manage DNS Settings (if domain's DNS managed externally)
- If your domain’s DNS is managed outside of DirectAdmin, you’ll need to manually add the DKIM record. Navigate to DirectAdmin -> DNS Management to copy the DKIM record.
- Log into your DNS provider’s panel, add a new TXT record and paste the DKIM details from DirectAdmin -> DNS Management.
